Teeth are often tilted as a result of early tooth loss or because of aplasia, and this can make optimal prosthetic or implant treatment difficult. In such cases, both family dentist and patient frequently request that the position of the teeth be improved before prosthetic or implant treatment begins, and this is in fact often necessary for better aesthetic and functional treatment. At this stage, tilted teeth are righted, gaps between the teeth are improved, crowded front teeth are corrected, functional occlusion is adjusted, or the bite is raised prior to prosthetic or implant treatment. |
