Baby teeth | Information from A to Z
A child’s first teeth are called the baby or deciduous teeth. The comparatively larger, permanent teeth would not find sufficient space in the still rather small jaws of a baby or infant, neither in width nor in root length. For this reason, primary dentition forms first and is gradually replaced by permanent dentition as the jaw grows. A child’s primary dentition comprises 20 teeth. |
